Voting is a right, and giving it up deepens society’s inequalities. Yann Basset, researcher, Universidad del Rosario, and Lina Guavita, a political scientist who graduated from the same institution, confirm this classic argument of electoral theory, revealing what has has historically occurred in Colombia.

While the National Government denied that the murder of social leaders was a systematic phenomenon and the media published shallow information, a group of academics from the universities of Rosario and Columbia (United States) was assigned the task to study the evidence.
